There’s nobody to blame but me for the lack of posts lately, but I’d like to believe I’ve been spending my time well since last I wrote here. Rather than stay with my comfort zone, I’ve taken the once experimental ‘Fridays with Erich’ and turned it into a commitment, spurred along by the awesome name thought up by my friend and creator of Embrilliance Embroidery Software, Brian Bailie. It’s one of those things you wish you could take credit for- The Takeup can mean many things. Sure, it’s the name of a critical part of our embroidery machines, but it’s also the information people take up from the presentation and the slack we all take up when we take over and make things happen. That’s what the show is all about.

This is the format so far: Once a week, for about an hour, I spend time talking about machine embroidery, the apparel decoration business, and anything that I’ve been asked by followers over the course of the week. The topic is always embroidery related and most often ventures into at least a little deep technical water, but it can be about anything and everything relating to the business and art of machine embroidery.

With all that said, I’m ready to sincerely start promoting this once experimental space and make it useful for as many of you fine stitchers as I can. Finally, though I feel that I have plenty I can do in the way of improvement, I can say that I have a small library of shows that have useful content laying in wait for those of you who choose to look them up. With 13 episodes under my belt, I think there’s a reasonable amount for a decent embroidery binge.
